New Patient Chiropractic Care in Denver
A Whole Body New Patient Exam
At Champagne Chiropractic, your initial visit is a Discovery Exam — a full-body assessment designed to uncover the root causes of restriction and imbalance. Dr. Champagne takes the time to sit down with you, learning about your health history, goals, and daily activities so care reflects what matters most in your life.
Our care is centered on precise chiropractic adjustments — reducing tension, restoring motion, and supporting better movement. What sets us apart is how we determine where to adjust. Dr. Champagne’s background in strength training and collegiate biomechanics coaching gives him a unique perspective to look at the body as a connected system, not just the spine. Through detailed testing of posture, gait, squat, and joint-by-joint motion, he identifies the true sources of imbalance.
This approach works for everyone — from those new to exercise to lifelong athletes. By pairing chiropractic adjustments with practical conversations about daily habits, stress, and movement, Dr. Champagne helps people not only find relief but also maintain progress and keep doing the activities they love.
Step-by-Step: What to Expect
To ensure a comprehensive evaluation, we divide your new patient exam across two visits.
Day One: 60-minute Discovery Exam
1. Health History & Conversation
We begin with a one-on-one conversation about your health history, lifestyle, and goals to understand the full picture of your health.
2. Posture Assessment
We measure posture alignment, including head tilt, forward head position, and overall body balance.
3. Gait Assessment
We record your walking from the front and back to see how your body moves through each step.
4. Squat Assessment
We evaluate your squat with arms overhead from multiple views to assess strength, mobility, and stability.
5. Balance & Stability Testing
We test how well you can stabilize in simple positions, giving insight into coordination.
6. Range of Motion Testing
Each major joint — ankles, knees, hips, shoulders, elbows, wrists, and full spine is tested to identify restrictions or limitations.
7. Muscle & Orthopedic Testing
We check muscle strength and perform orthopedic exams to see how your muscles, joints, and nerves are working together.
8. Spinal Examination (Palpation)
Through hands-on evaluation, we examine the spine for areas of restriction, tension, or imbalance.
9. Adjustment & X-Rays (if needed)
Many patients receive their first adjustment during this visit (if safe to be adjusted). X-Rays are ordered if additional imaging is necessary.
Day Two: 30-minute Results & Care Plan
We review your findings, explain what’s driving your symptoms, answer questions, and outline a tailored plan including visit frequency, in-office care, and simple at-home work.
